Trench Map - German Lines, Montauban

This map shows the German lines due south of Montauban, opposite which the 6th Berks. had been stationed, on and off, during the build up to the Somme offensive. On the 1st July, 1916 - the commencement of the battle - this area was successfully attacked by the 1st, 2nd and 4th Liverpool Pals, the 1st, 2nd and 4th Manchester Pals and the 2nd Royal Scots Fusiliers.
