- Kitchener's Army in Training
Some
of the enthusiastic volunteers of Kitchener's New Army. During the
latter half of 1914 and throughout 1915 hundreds of thousands of
men were turned into soldiers and despatched in their battalions
of pals to France, where many would soon see some action but most
would further prepare for their baptism of fire in the big push
of 1916.
